Bread and Butter Pudding

Serves 40 (Uploaded : 17/10/10. First cooked : tba)

3 loaves of bread
2 250g packs of unsalted butter
1 jar orange marmalade
10 eggs
3 pints milk
2 tsp Vanilla essence
8oz caster sugar

1. Heat the over to 160C/gas 4.

2. Spread the bread with butter and marmalade. Cut into triangles and arrange in dish.

3. Sprinkle sugar over the top.

4. Add the milk, eggs, vanilla essence and remaining sugar to a bowl and beat together. Pour over the bread.

5. Dot some marmalade over the top.

6. Bake for 45 minutes, until caramelised.
